?King Mo? wins while ?Babalu? retires at Bellator

One fighter got back on the winning track while another decided to end his career at Bellator's summer debut on Wednesday night.

Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal was knocked out in his last Bellator fight, which was a surprising result for the onetime Strikeforce champ. Wednesday's fight with Seth Petruzelli was his first fight since then, and he came back with a memorable knockout.

Lawal wrestled Petruzelli to the ground, then finished the fight at 1:35 in the first round with a huge right hook. He needed just one punch to knock Petruzelli out. Lawal will move on in Bellator's light heavyweight tournament to fight Jacob Noe.

"It's kind of highly emotional for me to talk about this right now, but I think maybe I've been in the cage more than everybody in this room here," he said. "I lived the life. That's what I want to say. I have no regrets. I was happy to help this sport grow."

Noe earned his spot in the semifinals with a win over Strikeforce and UFC veteran Renato "Babalu" Sobral. "Babalu" lost in a third-round, standing TKO, then announced his retirement from MMA.

Sobral finished his career with a record of 37-11. He started fighting in 1997, and fought in Brazilians promotions and Rings before fighting at UFC 28. Sobral fought such fighters as Fedor Emelianenko and Chuck Liddell.

One of the more memorable moments of Sobral's career was at UFC 74 when submitted David Heath with an anaconda choke, but wouldn't break the hold when first instructed by the ref. He was later cut from the UFC and fined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his wrongdoing.

Sobral then went to Strikeforce and won the light heavyweight championship before losing it to Gegard Mousasi. He also fought in One FC, and then Bellator before he hung up his MMA gloves.

Interview: Patti Novak, 'America's Toughest Matchmaker,' on Love ...

Creating relationships is a multi-billion dollar industry, and we?ve been seeing a lot of new takes on this business, from speed dating and niche online dating services such as Beautiful People???which, you guessed it, only allows beautiful people to join ? to more one-sided business models such as coaching services, and pheromones that promise love in a bottle. One of the oldest methods of finding love that people still turn to is matchmaking. With the advance and acceptance of dating systems, matchmakers are making a resurgence, and Patti Novak, also known as ?America?s Toughest Matchmaker,? is leading the charge.

Get Over Yourself Patti NovakBorn and raised in Buffalo, New York, Patti Novak began her career in matchmaking at the age of 10 when she was voted ?The Next Ann Landers? by her eighth grade class. Patti Novak went on to star in the critically acclaimed A&E series Confessions of a Matchmaker, and has matched thousands of couples throughout her career. Patti has been appeared on CNN, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and The Today Show, and has been featured in numerous publications such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. We talked to Patti Novak about her career, experience, and tips for dating in the modern world. Read on for Patti?s refreshing take on relationship facts and fiction.

What makes you ?America?s toughest matchmaker??

I believe in the tough love approach, and the fact that I?m not afraid to be blunt with my clients about how to improve themselves is one of the many things that makes me successful in helping people find love.

What are some of the most memorable moments from your career in matchmaking?

The ?firsts,? such as the first marriage announcement, the first baby announcement, my national TV show, writing my book, and having the opportunity to sit with Oprah for 45 minutes are just a few of many memorable moments throughout my 13-year career as a professional matchmaker.

You write that ?guys should make the initial call and suggest where to have the date.? Can you speak to gender equality and expectations in modern dating?

In a complicated modern dating world, I feel that it gives men the strength of decisiveness which is an attractive quality for men to possess. It also takes the awkwardness out of that ?first date.?

You have a very honest and blunt personality ? how do the people you work with react to that?

I use humor and love as part of my approach while being blunt and honest with people. It seems to me that the American single people are ready for it and crave it.

What is the biggest obstacle people face in finding love?

There are many obstacles for single people. Among them are a lack of self-love, self-worth, and self-respect. In addition, people often are in a pattern of poor picking when it comes to relationships.

What was your favorite moment from Confessions of a Matchmaker??

My most rewarding experience on that show was with Paul S. He had poor manners, acted narcissistic at times, and he was an underachiever in his career based on his love for music. Since the show, he is not only exclusively dating a wonderful woman, but he has become more successful in his professional life.

Do you have fun scolding your clients?

No. I take my job very seriously and the ?scolding,? in my opinion, is more akin to constructive criticism and coaching them to success.

You have a very strict screening process for your matchmaking services. What percentage of applicants do you turn away and what are the most common reasons?

I turn about 20% of prospective clients away for various reasons. Some people just aren?t ready emotionally, physically, or mentally for dating.

You have said that many of the women you have worked with are attracted to ?malignant narcissists.? Why do you think that is?

Often times, a narcissist will initially come across as very charming, attractive, doting, confident, and full of passion. Unfortunately, the undesirable traits of a narcissist don?t fully rear their heads until they?ve gotten underneath your skin like a parasite.

Can you tell us what are the most important components of your matchmaking process?

My screening process is key. This is where I really find out who I?m dealing with.

You have advised people who have trouble having conversations because they are shy to memorize a list of topics before the date and practice asking questions. Do you have any more advice for shy daters?

[In addition] to going to the date with some interesting conversation to offer, listening to understand will help them to respond accordingly and keep the conversation flowing smoothly.

How has online dating changed the way we have relationships?

I think online dating is a good way for people to practice and sharpen their dating skills, but the safety risks often outweigh the benefits.

What are the most common or egregious relationship myths?

Although young opposites can attract, I don?t believe that this mantra hold true for more mature individuals. I think we are better off with our mirror as a partner.

Another myth, in my opinion, is love at first sight. I believe in chemistry and lust at first, but definitely not true love. Sex can happen in a day, but it can take months to truly get to know someone to the point of being capable of intimacy and love.

What was the proudest moment of your career?

When my daughter Jessica decided to follow in my footsteps.

'Sopranos' co-star: Gandolfini was a great actor

Celebs

James Gandolfini will long be remembered by fans, friends, co-stars and critics for his indelible portrayal of Tony Soprano on HBO's "The Sopranos." On Wednesday, New York Times TV writer Bill Carter and "Sopranos" co-star Federico Castelluccio joined TODAY's Matt Lauer to share some of their memories and to assess the late actor's lasting impact.

"He was a soft-spoken guy, but a warm guy," said Carter. "When he hugged you, it was genuine."

Lauer quoted from a statement given by "Sopranos" creator David Chase that noted that "a great deal of genius resided in those sad eyes," a statement Castelluccio, who played Furio on the series and was a friend of Gandolfini's, agreed with. "I couldn't have said it better myself," he said. "James Gandolfini was one of the greatest actors of our time.... He was a really well-nuanced actor."

Still, both agreed that Gandolfini battled demons, and once ended up in rehab for drug addiction. "He did have some problems dealing with his fame," said Carter. "He believed himself to be just a guy who emerged with a career he didn't expect."

Remembered Castelluccio, it wasn't unusual for Gandolfini to disappear for days at a time while making the show. One particular scene in which Furio wants to kill Tony prompted such a vanishing. "No one knew where he was for a few days," he said. "He wrote me a wonderful letter after that saying, 'You were there for me and I wasn't there for you and I apologize, but it's something I needed to do."

Interpreter rapidly signs to Wu-Tang rappers

If you've ever had trouble keeping up with rapid fire hip-hop lyrics, especially those of the multi-member group Wu-Tang Clan, well, try singing along with your hands.

A new viral video featured on the website Now This News shows Wu-Tang performing at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee last Friday. Just below the stage is an American Sign Language interpreter identified as Holly, rapidly rapping along in the 25-second clip.

Holly does an excellent job of keeping up with at least eight guys on stage with mics, and puts more effort into feeling the beat than any of them.

Now This News also points to this awesome Vine of Holly doing her thing for R. Kelly, also at Bonnaroo.

The viral goodness of it all is reminiscent of the popularity of Lydia Callis, the interpreter for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Callis rose to fame because of her work during news conferences in the midst of Hurricane Sandy last fall.

And a college student named Anna scored almost 4 million YouTube views with her interpretation of Cee Lo Green's popular (and profane) hit "F--- You" from a couple years ago during a final for a sign language class she was taking.

Torchlight game for Mac, Windows free from GOG.com

Torchlight game for Mac free from GOG.com

GOG.com has announced the free release of Runic Games' dungeon crawler Torchlight, but you have to act fast, because the deal only lasts for 48 hours, and they announced it yesterday.

Torchlight was created by some of the folks behind Diablo and Diablo II, and its heritage shines through - it's a classic dungeon crawler action role playing game. You make your way through randomized dungeons, rendered in an isometric (or three-quarters) perspective.

There are three character classes to choose from: the Destroyer (a warrior), the Alchemist (a magic user) and the Vanquisher (an archer who can also set traps). You set out to explore the mines beneath the bustling town of Torchlight, rich with a magical substance known as Ember. As you make your way through more than 30 levels, you discover that Ember can corrupt its users (and those who are exposed to it). Eventually you have to square off against the evil Alric and the source of Ember's corruption.

GOG.com is kicking off their "2013 #NoDRM Summer Sale" with the free Torchlight promotion. And yes, as the name implies, there's no DRM on the game.

Jodi Arias TV movie airs Saturday on Lifetime

PHOENIX (AP) ? A made-for-television movie on Jodi Arias is scheduled to air this weekend.

"Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret" is set to be shown Saturday on Lifetime, but the movie won't be about the trial.

Screenwriter Richard Blaney wrote the script with Gregory Small. Blaney told The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/19NmBq4 ) the project was in the works more than a year ago. He says they completed the script in December.

That was the same month that Arias' televised trial started in the brutal 2008 slaying of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, a Mesa motivational speaker.

Small says they didn't anticipate the trial getting as much attention as it did.

A jury convicted Arias of first-degree murder in May but couldn't reach a decision on whether she should live or die.
